Norwegian Heritage Week

Come and join us for our annual week-long celebration of Syttende Mai, Norway's Constitution Day!

Sat., May 12 – Uffda Day at Pioneer Village. 1-4 pm. $5 adult, $3 children.

Sun., May 13 – Concert by Norwegians Inger-Kristine Riber and Reidun Horvei “Migrasong – the tunes they carried across the sea.” United Methodist Church, 7 p.m. Freewill donation.

Mon., May 14 –Award winning 1948 Movie “I Remember Mama.” NCTC Auditorium, 7:00 pm. Freewill donation.

Tues., May 15 – Dr. Odd Lovoll, history professor and author of many books on Scandinavian immigration, will speak on "Observations on the History of the Norwegian American Experience." NCTC Auditorium, 7 p.m. Freewill donation.

Wed., May 16 – Scandinavian smorgasbord dinner, Zion Church. 5-7:00 p.m. $12 adult, $5 children 12 and under.

Thurs., May 17 – Syttende Mai open house, Northern State Bank. 10 am-3pm. Coffee and Scandinavian goodies served by the Snorre Lodge of Sons of Norway.

Fri., May 18 – Old Time dance at the Eagles Hall with the Cathy Erickson Band, with folk dance instructions by Jeanne O’Neill. 7-11 p.m., $7.50, includes lunch.

Sat., May 19 – Author Susan Foote speaking on MN mental institution reform led by Engla Schey, daughter of Norwegian immigrants who settled near Newfolden, MN. TRF Public Library, 10 a.m. Free admission.

Sat., May 19 – “Ole & Lena’s Wedding” comedy theater performance by Change of Pace Productions of Duluth, MN. NCTC Auditorium, 7:00 pm, $10.

Sun., May 20 - “Ole & Lena’s Wedding” comedy theater performance by Change of Pace Productions of Duluth, MN. NCTC Auditorium, 2:00 pm, $10.
