Spring has Sprung!

Spring has Sprung!

By Laura Stengrim, Executive Director of the Thief River Falls Convention & Visitors Bureau

Do you love spring as much as I do? The smell of fresh air, the sight of melting snow and the feeling of tossing that winter jacket into storage! Spring is an exciting time in Thief River Falls filled with numerous events. The winter sports are wrapping up and the cultural and family events are starting to pop up around town. A few of my favorite spring events are right around the corner.

The 1st Annual Pioneer Village Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for Saturday, April 1st. This a great opportunity to get photos of your kids with the Easter Bunny and hunt for eggs! The Jose Cole Circus is another family event, held on April 8th at the Huck Olson Memorial Civic Center. The Times Home Show will be going on right next door at the Ralph Engelstad Arena April 8th and 9th. This is their 25th annual event and there are over 150 vendors registered. If you're a music lover, the Thief River Falls Entertainment Series is putting on unique musical performances on April 11th and April 26th.

If you missed the first Easter Egg Hunt, you're in luck. The 3rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt, presented by Ace Rental, will be held on April 15th at the Ralph Engelstad Arena. This event promises to have 6,000 stuffed Easter eggs and is for kids of all ages!

Fast forward to mid-May, the Sons of Norway will be putting on Norwegian Heritage Week, May 11th-17th. This weeklong string of events celebrates the Norwegian heritage that runs deep in Thief River Falls. We have been recognized as the most Norwegian city in the U.S. per capita; hence the 14 trolls scattered throughout the city. Uff-da, that's a lot of trolls! I dare you to try to find them all. Some are sneaky and more around from time to time.

There are many more fun events going on in Thief River Falls this spring, so please click here for the full list and detailed description of each.
